Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Compliance to join an extremely busy and expanding Manufacturing Engineering client based in Bradford. This position has been created due to the current post holder moving overseas and is an opportunity to hand over to the new incumbent. Candidates must have strong people skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of staff and educate staff in relation to QHSE processes.

This role will act as primary custodian of compliance and risk governance, overseeing existing standards (ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001) and leading the implementation of new standards (ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, ISO 44001, and ISO 20400).

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within a similar role in a Manufacturing Engineering environment with an understanding and appreciation for risk and hazards within this type of working environment. Ideally, candidates will be NEBOSH qualified with Lead Audit qualifications in 9001 or 45001.

Hours – Monday to Thursday (Apply online only) / Friday 08:30 – 16:30.

Role Description

• Lead and maintain compliance across ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and implement ISO 22301, 27001, 42001, 44001, and 20400.
• Own certification and audit readiness, acting as the company lead for external assessments.
• Represent the business during client audits and regulatory inspections, building confidence in our delivery capability.
• Manage enterprise risk, GDPR, DUAA, and ethical AI practices across operations.
• Champion health, safety, and sustainability culture in both factory and site environments.
• Oversee supplier and subcontractor assurance, including ITPs, due diligence, and sustainable procurement.
• Deliver targeted training and lead a small compliance team, fostering continuous improvement.

Skills & Attributes

• Demonstrable experience within a similar Compliance / QHSE role within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001.
• Experience in implementing ISO Standards.
• NEBOSH General Certificate.
• Lead Auditor Qualifications (9001 OR 45001).
• Familiarity with ISO 44001 (Collaborative Business Relationships) and ISO 20400 (Sustainable Procurement).
• Experience with Constructionline, CHAS, and SafeContractor. (Desirable)
• Knowledge of DPIA and broader data governance processes. (Desirable)
• Understanding of AI governance frameworks (DUAA, AI standards). (Desirable)
• Ability to coach, train and engage employees.
• Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook literate.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Full UK Driving License.
