Job summary

Homes England | National Housing Bank is seeking a Head – Complex Transaction Support to lead a CTS team and oversee distressed lending cases within the Debt portfolio. The role requires gravitas, negotiation and restructuring skills in a high-pressure public environment, reporting to the Assistant Director.

You will shape risk management, develop workout strategies, and collaborate with MHCLG/HMT and senior executives across multiple offices in a hybrid 50/50 setup. Closing date: 26 June 2026.

Qualifications

• Extensive technical capability in insolvency procedures and restructuring options.
• Understanding of insolvency law and administration, LPA receivership, and schemes of arrangement.
• Experience leading a team handling distressed lending.
• Leadership to run a high-output team under pressure.
• Experience managing complex lending positions to maximise delivery and minimise loss.
• Extensive Credit Risk experience across Real Estate sectors.
• Ability to present complex distressed lending problems to Senior Management and MHCLG/HMT.

Responsibilities

• Designing and leading identification of emerging risk within the mainstream portfolio.
• Designing and executing a work-out strategy for identified risk cases.
• Delivering restructuring strategies through Risk, Investment Committee, MHCLG and HMT when required.
• Maintaining CTS Watch List Process with monthly updates and risk reviews.
• Maintaining an effective database of impaired and written-down loans for accurate risk assessment.
• Advising senior management and board on best practice from banking sectors.
