Head of Service – Prevention, Early Intervention & Community Services. Reporting into the Director of Communities and Partnerships, this strategic leadership role will shape the future of integrated community services across the borough.
This is a unique opportunity to influence system-wide transformation, lead borough-wide service design, and deliver innovative, community-focused solutions that reduce demand on public services and improve outcomes for residents.
Your role as Head of Service:- Strategic oversight of integrated community services including Community Safety, Live Well, and Libraries
- Leading a team of Service Leads to deliver borough-wide prevention and early intervention programmes
- Driving the development of neighbourhood-based models and universal contact approaches
- Influencing senior leaders and commissioners across health, police, fire, voluntary and community sectors
- Championing community engagement initiatives
- Managing budgets and ensuring financial sustainability across services
- Embedding innovation, collaboration, and resident voice into service design and delivery
Your previous experience as a Head of Service:- Proven leadership in public health, community safety, or prevention services
- Strong track record of strategic planning and partnership development
- Experience managing complex budgets and multi-disciplinary teams
- Skilled in influencing senior stakeholders and navigating political environments
- Expertise in community development, health promotion, and engagement
- Confident communicator with experience presenting on national platforms
- ILM Level 5 (or equivalent) leadership qualification
