Job description

Newly created role, based in Oxford for a Head of Commercial Finance.

Your new company
Our client is a growing organisation that is seeking a highly commercially minded accountant to join them as Head of Commercial Finance and both support and drive expansion.

Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will manage a small team responsible for all financial management and commercial tendering processes, as well as potential acquisitions. Working with the leadership team and developing relationships to develop a deep understanding of business opportunities and risks and prioritising work in a dynamic and complex environment, you will partner operational teams and work alongside the Head of Finance. As a proven finance leader, you will be expected to develop the finance function as the business grows from strength to strength.

This broad role will include developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with a company's overall business objectives, providing insightful financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making at all levels and leading the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, as well as ensuring robust financial controls and driving continuous improvement in financial processes and systems. You will analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction and provide financial support for commercial negotiations and pricing strategies. Evaluating the financial viability of new business opportunities and investments and supporting the procurement team with requirements analysis and tender evaluations will also form part of your role.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with extensive experience in financial leadership and strategy, commercial performance, acquisitions and tendering and team management. We are looking for someone who can provide mentorship and guidance to team members and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability. Previous experience in facilities management or the construction sector would be advantageous, as well as experience in a rapidly growing business.
