Job Description:

Perch Group are searching for a Head of Commercial - Debt Purchase.

Our services include debt collection, debt purchase, reconnection, and litigation services.

The Role

We seek an experienced Head of Commercial - Debt Purchase to lead our commercial operations. This management role involves working with the Commercial Director on budgets, strategic partnerships, and key accounts. You will oversee client-facing teams and play a key role in business development and client relationship management across sectors like Banking, Financial Services, Retail, Telco, and Utilities.

This role is field-based with travel to Manchester, Skipton, Blackpool, and client offices.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement the commercial strategy for debt purchase aligned with group goals.
  2. Win new business through prospecting and networking with decision-makers.
  3. Manage and grow key client relationships for long-term value.
  4. Lead and support business development and client operations teams.
  5. Identify and pursue new market opportunities.
  6. Represent the company at industry events and client meetings.
  7. Negotiate and close commercial deals.
  8. Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Finance teams.
  9. Drive cross-sell opportunities within group services.
  10. Maintain a commercial pipeline with accurate forecasting.
  11. Ensure activities comply with regulations and governance.
The Person
  1. Experience in senior commercial or business development roles in debt purchase or credit management.
  2. Understanding of compliance and regulation in debt purchase.
  3. Success in winning new business and managing key accounts.
  4. Experience managing cross-functional teams.
  5. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for engaging at senior levels.
  6. Proven negotiation skills for large agreements.
  7. Network in Banking, Financial Services, Retail, Telco, or Utilities sectors.
  8. Commercial acumen with strategic thinking skills.
  9. Willingness to travel as needed.
  10. Experience with Tier 1 financial institutions or large creditors.
  11. Experience with multi-service commercial strategies.
  12. Initial 15-minute video call with recruitment team.
  13. Follow-up 60-minute interview with the hiring manager.
