Novus Property Solutions Limited is seeking a Head of Commercial to drive the commercial performance of our nationwide Housing Partnerships portfolio. You will lead strategy across multi-million-pound contracts, work with regional teams, and ensure consistency in commercial approaches from bid through final account.

The role requires extensive experience in social housing refurbishment, strong governance, and the ability to travel nationwide to support regional operations.

Responsibilities

• Set and deliver the commercial strategy for Housing Partnerships portfolio.
• Provide leadership to commercial teams and ensure high standards of performance.
• Lead the commercial lifecycle from bid and mobilisation to final account.
• Drive profit and cash through forecasting, cost control and value optimisation.
• Review CVRs and provide insight to senior leadership; challenge where required.
• Maintain strong governance around contracts, risk and assurance.
• Collaborate with operations, finance and supply chain to improve regional performance.
• Build trusted client relationships and grow services within partnerships.
• Lead or support resolution of complex commercial matters and disputes.
• Champion continuous improvement and share best practices across the business.

Job description

This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape and drive the commercial performance of our nationwide Housing Partnerships portfolio. As a Head of Commercial, you will provide strategic commercial direction across multiple long-term, multi-million-pound contracts, helping to maximise value, strengthen governance and deliver sustainable, profitable growth. Predominantly focused on planned and retrofit refurbishment projects within social housing, the role combines commercial leadership with a partnership-led approach. You will work across the country to support regional teams, develop trusted client relationships and ensure a consistent commercial approach across our contracts. Working collaboratively with operational, commercial and finance colleagues, you will oversee commercial strategy from bid through to final account. You will provide clear insight to senior leaders, manage risk and working capital, and identify opportunities to improve performance and expand our services. This role will suit an influential commercial leader who can balance financial rigour with a strong client focus and bring teams together around a clear, consistent approach. Nationwide travel will be required to support our contracts and regional operations.

• Set and deliver the commercial strategy for our Housing Partnerships portfolio, aligned with our wider business plan.
• Provide visible leadership to commercial teams, supporting their development and promoting high standards of performance and accountability.
• Lead the commercial function across the full contract lifecycle, from bid and mobilisation through to delivery and final account.
• Drive profitability and cash performance through robust forecasting, cost control, working-capital management and value optimisation.
• Review CVRs and other key commercial information, providing clear insight, challenge and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Maintain strong commercial governance, including contract review, negotiation, risk management and assurance.
• Work closely with operational, finance and supply chain teams to improve consistency and commercial performance across regions.
• Build trusted, long-term client relationships and identify opportunities to broaden our services within existing and new partnerships.
• Lead or support the resolution of complex commercial matters and disputes.
• Champion continuous improvement, sharing best practice and strengthening commercial capability across the business.

You will be an experienced senior commercial leader with a strong track record in social housing construction, planned maintenance and retrofit environment. You will have experience of leading commercial teams and overseeing high-value, multi-region or national contracts. Commercially astute and strategically minded, you will bring strong knowledge of contract management, CVRs, forecasting, risk, working capital and final accounts. You will be an influential leader with the credibility to build trusted client relationships and engage effectively with operational teams, commercial colleagues and senior stakeholders. You will need a full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel nationwide. The successful candidate will also be required to complete a DBS check.
