    Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Clinical Services team, providing high-quality palliative and end-of-life care to patients in their own homes. As a key people leader within the service, you will oversee the operational running of our Day and Night Nursing Team, Befriending Service, Complementary Therapy, and Occupational Therapy services, ensuring patients and their families receive the best possible support.

    Main duties of the job

    To work without supervision in Hospice at Homes nursing team as a 1st level Registered Nurse leading on the assessment and review of patients and carers/relatives receiving support from Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland.

    To effectively coordinate and manage the Hospice at Home Day and Night Nursing Team, Befriending, Complementary Therapy and Occupational Therapy services.

    Participate in the direct provision of patient care and liaise with members of the multi-disciplinary team and palliative care team in order to achieve this.

    To oversee the smooth operation of the out of hours on call system and to also participate in the on call rota.

    To develop and support nurses through an effective appraisal and development process identifying learning needs and training opportunities in conjunction with them.

    To support the Director of Clinical Services in the delivery of mandatory training for staff and volunteers

    To liaise with the Director of Clinical Services in relation to required aspects of role and service provision.

    About us

    Hospice at Home is a charitable organisation working alongside and in collaboration with other specialist palliative care providers, local primary care services and Adult Social Care as well as acute settings and residential care.

    We offer day and night nursing care and support, respite provision, specialist services of Lymphoedema and Occupational Therapy, Bereavement and Family Support, Complementary Therapy and a Befriending Service.

    Care is provided by Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates, and Assistant Practitioners. Health Care Assistants, Volunteers, Counsellors and Allied Health Care Professionals supported by administrative staff.
