Job description

Head of Clinical

About us

We are a fast-growing marketplace revolutionising home care. Our platform uses proprietary technology to connect families and care recipients directly with experienced, self-employed carers, enabling more people to live independently at home for longer. As a marketplace, we empower self-employed carers while ensuring our platform upholds the highest standards of safety, quality, and personalised care.

We are looking for a Head of Clinical to lead our clinical operations, champion safety and quality, and ensure the voice of clinical expertise informs how we build and grow our services.

About You

As a senior leader, you lead by example.

You’re never satisfied with the status quo. You aren’t afraid to ask bold questions and challenge conventional thinking to make care better, safer, and more scalable.

You’ve spent enough time in health & social care settings to understand the complexity and responsibility of delivering safe care, but what sets you apart is your commercial mindset. You instinctively spot opportunities to build for scale and sustainable growth. You thrive at the intersection of clinical excellence and innovation.

You’re just as comfortable being challenged as you are asking big questions. With that, you don’t let regulation become a barrier to progress. You see this as an opportunity to get creative and solve problems.

Above all, you're purpose-driven. You're energised by the opportunity to shape the future of community care models and you're ready to lead a unique clinical team to drive the mission forward.

Role Overview

As Head of Clinical, you will lead the clinical operations of our business, working across quality, safeguarding, compliance, and governance while driving product development and marketplace standards. You will bring clinical credibility and leadership, combined with a commercially-minded approach to help us enable safe and effective care at home, while supporting platform growth.

This pivotal role directly impacts both care recipients and carers, ensuring appropriate and safe care delivery while empowering carers and families with essential tools and guidance for sustainable home care.

Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Governance

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Clinical Leads, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Lead clinical governance across the platform, ensuring platform activities meet high standards of quality, safety, and trust.

  • Oversee safeguarding policy and practice, providing expertise on risk and protection of vulnerable adults.

  • Oversee quality assurance policy and practice, providing expertise on carer quality standards and platform access.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations while optimising for a tech-enabled and scalable model.

  • Keep current with legislation and regulation changes, and how it impacts the wider business and general operations.

Quality & Compliance

  • Monitor and report on quality and safety metrics; lead reviews and responses to serious incidents.

  • Support regulatory compliance while maintaining operational efficiency and commercial goals.

Product & Platform Development

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design to ensure the platform reflects clinical best practices in care planning, documentation, carer matching, and risk management.

  • Champion a user-centered clinical perspective to inform digital features that empower customers, carers, and families in managing live-in care safely and effectively.

  • Help define platform policies that promote appropriate and sustainable care in a self-employed care marketplace model.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Act as a clinical voice in commercial and operational decision-making balancing safety, user experience, and growth goals.

  • Partner with the Exec, Sales, Marketing, and Service to align messaging, escalation protocols, SOPs, and service standards with clinical best practice.

  • Represent the business externally in clinical or regulatory contexts as needed.

Essential

  • Registered clinician (e.g., Nurse, Social Worker) with significant post-registration experience in community, older adult, or domiciliary care.

  • Tangible experience in clinical governance, safeguarding, and quality improvement.

  • Commercially savvy: able to apply clinical principles in a pragmatic, scalable, and business-aligned way.

  • Strong communicator, with confidence working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders.

  • Understanding of relevant regulation and law in the UK (e.g. CQC, Health and Social Care Act 2008, Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, CIS, CIW, Right to Work in the UK, DBS, PVG, UK GDPR)

Desirable

  • Experience in a digital health or health tech company.

  • Familiarity with self-employed or marketplace models in health or care.

  • Understanding of relevant digital and data governance in healthcare contexts.

  • Experience working alongside Product & Engineering teams.

  • Clinical line management and supervision.

  • Ai curious.

What We Offer

  • A high-impact leadership role in a mission-driven, tech-enabled business tackling one of society’s biggest challenges.

  • The chance to shape how high-quality care is delivered at scale in a new, more flexible model.

  • Competitive salary and benefits (e.g. private healthcare, WFH set up budget, team socials, 6 weeks WFA).

  • Flexible, hybrid working.
