We are looking for a Head of Client Insight and Business Intelligence to join our Marketing & Business Development team.
The successful candidate will develop and implement a comprehensive client insight and business intelligence strategy and function to support data-driven business development, marketing, and client engagement initiatives in support of Carey Olsen's strategy and growth targets.
- Lead on the collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of client, business, and marketing data leveraging Carey Olsen's practice management, financial, and marketing systems.
- Identify and present trends, insights, and opportunities for growth and new business by analyzing management information, client behavior, and engagement with marketing and business development initiatives and campaigns.
- Collaborate with other Group Services teams (including Finance, Technology, and Knowledge Management) to evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies that enable efficient data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Combine external and internal data sources to create client and prospect lists for departmental and partner BD plans.
- Create and maintain a suite of dashboards and reporting tools to:
- Track and assess ROI on marketing and business development initiatives.
- Track achievement against departmental and partner BD plans.
- Provide data to support objective assessment and input into partner appraisals.
- Analyze value and identify growth opportunities with key clients and intermediary relationships.
Foster a culture of data literacy across the firm, emphasizing the importance of accurate and comprehensive data collection to ensure high-quality management information, analytics, and reporting.Manage and mentor a team of marketing and business development analysts and data specialists.The ideal candidate will have:
- A demonstrable track record in a similar data analysis, research, and client insight role supporting strategic goals, decision-making, and growth.
- Experience working in an international law firm or professional services firm is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Highly proficient in analysis and reporting software (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Python, Excel) using and manipulating data in CRM, marketing systems, and databases (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Vuture, HubSpot, Marketo, JD Supra, LinkedIn, Lexology, Mondaq).
- Leveraging data sourced from digital marketing analytics and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau).
Strong understanding of digital marketing channels (SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing) and their metrics.Personal Characteristics:
- Strategically minded with strong commercial acumen.
- Highly numerate with excellent research, data collation, and manipulation skills.
- Ability to summarize large amounts of data into meaningful insights with supporting recommendations.
- Exceptional communication skills – comfortable presenting to senior management and boards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
