Head of Civil/ Structural Engineering


GPW Recruitment are currently looking for a Head of Civil/ Structural Engineering working with an Engineering and Projects Delivery business specialising in the design, installation, management and consultancy of bulk material handling systems across a number of sectors, with specific expertise in tunnelling, aggregates and ports.


The purpose of the Head of Civil/ Structural Engineering role is to be ultimately responsible for the delivery of Civil/ Structural engineering scope across projects, studies, and bids; this includes ensuring designs meet the highest standards with regards to safety, code compliance, scope alignment, quality, cost, and on-time delivery. In this role you will promote structural efficiency, cost optimisation, and quality of output, through resource management and acting as a business subject matter expert. This is a functional role with management and occasional customer facing responsibilities.


Essential:
  1. Minimum BEng (Hons) in Engineering (preferably Civil or Structural)
  2. Chartered Engineer (CEng, preferably ICE or IStructE)
  3. Minimum 12 years’ experience in a Civil/ Structural engineering field.
  4. Knowledge of the construction & process industries and applicable standards.
  5. Ability to use structural analytical software unaided (STAAD Pro or TEKLA Structures).
  6. Ability to interpret Site Investigation reports and identify civil implications.
  7. Understanding of load cases and structural design principles.
