Are you ready to lead a core science subject in an ambitious and inclusive school? A School in Haringey is looking for a passionate and skilled Head of Chemistry to join their Science faculty from September 2025.
This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to lead Chemistry across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, guiding curriculum development, driving teaching standards, and supporting student progress at all levels.
You will work closely with a collaborative Science team and senior leaders to ensure high-quality learning, rigorous assessment, and a culture of curiosity and academic excellence. The school is well-resourced, with dedicated science labs, strong departmental support, and a thriving sixth form.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage Chemistry teaching across the school
Develop and deliver a challenging, inclusive curriculum at KS3-KS5
Support and mentor staff within the Science department
Oversee schemes of work, assessments, and interventions in Chemistry
Monitor student outcomes and implement strategies to raise attainment
Contribute to departmental CPD and whole-school science initiatives
Ensure a safe and well-organised laboratory learning environment
Qualifications and Experience
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry, ideally to A-Level
Experience teaching in a UK secondary school
Proven ability to inspire, challenge, and support students
Experience leading a subject or phase (or clear readiness to do so)
Strong communication and leadership skills
A commitment to inclusion and educational excellence
