Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining the quality and standards of care in line with CQC and other statutory bodies.
  • Manage care services within budget, ensuring services meet specifications and outcomes are effectively measured.
  • Lead the nursing team, guiding recruitment, supervision, and professional development to ensure outstanding nursing care.
  • Promote the nursing team’s role within the organisation and externally, enhancing our reputation for excellence in care.
  • Deputise for the service manager when needed and participate in on-call support for the service.
Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Oversee line management across all nursing service delivery, ensuring adherence to the NMC code of conduct.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as the service manager, therapy team, and quality team, to sustain good working relationships.
  • Encourage collaboration within the multidisciplinary team (MDT), promoting interdisciplinary communication.
  • Cultivate relationships with external stakeholders including local safeguarding bodies and partner organisations.
  • Work independently in a specialist clinical area, possessing a wealth of knowledge in neurological rehabilitation.
  • Accept responsibility for high-quality nursing care practices, driven by research findings and best practice.
  • Mentor and supervise the nursing team, contributing to the development of new services and facilities.
  • Provide expert advice on complex care nursing, supporting Brainkind and its initiatives.
  • Lead the development of knowledge and practice within the service, addressing clinical governance issues.
