We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Head of Care to lead our dedicated team at The Chantry neurological care centre. Our mission is to provide exceptional, person-centred care, ensuring dignity, safety, and quality of life for those we support. The Head of Care will oversee care delivery, staff management, and regulatory compliance, while creating a supportive and therapeutic environment for residents and staff.

Main duties of the job

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the nursing and care team, ensuring high standards of care and service.
  • Lead, mentor, supervise, and support care staff, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and individual supervision to ensure effective communication and continuous quality improvement.
  • Develop personalized care plans in collaboration with individuals supported, their families, and the multidisciplinary team to meet their unique needs.
  • Implement mechanisms to monitor care quality and address issues promptly, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, legislation, and best practices.
  • Ensure healthcare needs of each individual are met with the highest standards of care.
  • Lead, develop, and supervise the nursing and rehabilitation support teams to support individuals with acquired brain injuries in daily activities and personal goal development.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • A valid RGN nursing qualification.
  • Experience managing a ward or large nursing team effectively.
  • Proven experience in managing complex care and rehabilitation services.
  • Mentorship in Practice (MiP) qualification or willingness to undertake it, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Understanding of Clinical Governance and its application.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
  • Strong management skills with a track record of supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff.
