Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust seeks a Band 8d Head of Capital Projects, Environment to provide strategic leadership for the estates capital programme and oversee planning, procurement and delivery of projects across multiple sites.

Reporting to the Director of Environment, you will lead complex capital schemes, drive safety, sustainability and value for money, and manage external consultants and contractors while collaborating with clinical, operational and corporate teams.

Qualifications

• Leadership proven in capital projects or estates programmes.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen in large organisations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop capital strategies, governance and budgets for the estates capital programme.
• Lead business case development, procurement activities and NHS compliance.
• Provide expert advice to senior leaders and manage external consultants/contractors.
• Lead Capital Projects team and promote health and safety, sustainability and innovation.
• Oversee delivery of complex construction, refurbishment and redevelopment projects across sites.
