Job summary

EVAW is the UK's largest coalition of organisations working to end violence against women and girls. The postholder will lead EVAW’s campaigns, advise the Directors and work closely with Heads of Communications, Policy and Research, Public Affairs and Membership to shape strategy and external messaging.

The role is front-facing, requiring confident representation in high-level spaces and the media, with a focus on monitoring, evaluation and learning to ensure campaign efficacy and learning

Qualifications

• Experience in campaigns, preferably on VAWG or human rights issues.
• Ability to represent the organisation in high-level spaces and media.
• Strong monitoring, evaluation and learning capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead EVAW’s strategic campaigns and reactive campaigning.
• Advise the Director(s) and collaborate with Heads of Communications, Policy and Research, Public Affairs and Membership.
• Represent EVAW in high-level stakeholder spaces and in the media.

Job description

This is an exciting new role that will see the postholder leading EVAW’s strategic, influential campaigns work. The postholder will drive EVAW’s planned and reactive campaigning, advising the Director(s) and working closely with Heads of Communications, Policy and Research, Public Affairs and Membership functions within the organisation. The role is frontfacing, requiring the postholder to confidently represent the organisation in high-level stakeholder spaces, as well as in the media. The postholder will lead on monitoring, evaluation and learning, ensuring the efficacy of our campaigns and interventions, as well as promoting internal learning and reflection. Using their strong campaigning nous/instinct the postholder will also be effective at adapting or amending campaigns and interventions when the external landscape shifts.

The postholder will have a finger on the pulse of current affairs and trends, and be willing and able balance reactive and responsive work with delivering planned outputs and activities. You should be comfortable both working at pace, and with taking time to reflect and re-strategise.

You are likely to have experience in campaigns, working on VAWG or another human rights/equalities issue, and will be seeking an opportunity to work in a highly impactful, agile and dynamic feminist organisation.

Whether practical or academic, paid or voluntary, a background in VAWG will of course be an asset. You’ll need to show you have a good understanding of VAWG, can communicate complex issues with clarity and impact, and are committed to intersectional feminism.
