Kingsthorpe College is seeking a dynamic Head of Business Studies to lead the department and drive standards in teaching and learning. The role supports curriculum development and staff development within a thriving secondary school in Northamptonshire.

The successful candidate will use data to maximise student progress, contribute to Ofsted readiness, and promote an inclusive, safe learning environment. January 2027 start; part-time options may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Business Studies department, driving standards of teaching and learning
• Champion our school values and foster a culture of ambition and success
• Oversee curriculum planning, development and delivery for all abilities
• Support, develop and challenge staff, sharing best practice across the school
• Use data to maximise student progress, with a focus on inclusion and achievement for all
• Play a key role in quality assurance, external reviews (such as Ofsted) and school improvement
• Promote a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including pastoral support and enrichment activities
