Head of Business Intelligence

  • Lead and manage the Business Intelligence Team, comprising Business Analytics, Data Visualisation, and Customer Insights.
  • Report to the Customer Excellence Director.
  • Location: Maidenhead (hybrid work, 3 days per week).

Job Overview

The Business Analytics team delivers insightful analysis to support brand planning, reporting, and performance management. Data Visualisation oversees the strategic visualization of insights, while Customer Insights provides cost-effective data, market research, and brand insights to inform decision-making. The role involves managing demand across these areas, ensuring strategic priorities and deadlines are met, and implementing changes in the Customer Engagement model across the affiliate.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  • Recruit, manage, and develop team members, setting priorities and objectives.
  • Ensure timely delivery of customer insights to brand and launch teams.
  • Support Affiliate Leadership and Business Unit Managers with insights.
  • Optimize BI systems and processes for efficiency.
  • Manage budgets and vendors, adhering to procurement best practices.
  • Contribute to the Customer Excellence Leadership Team (CELT) and promote BI internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with WE&C and Global teams to align plans with UK needs.
  • Foster a positive culture within the BI team and broader division.

Compliance

  • Manage market research review processes in line with ABPI, BHBIA, and EPhMRA guidelines.
  • Guide team activities within policy and timeline requirements.
  • Develop SOPs and policies for Market Research and insight gathering.
  • Create training programs for team compliance and development.

Operational Delivery

  • Ensure delivery of data and insights for brand and launch plans.
  • Develop data strategies with the data transformation team.
  • Manage quality market research programmes.
  • Provide informed analysis on products, therapy areas, and competitors to optimize performance.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Experience with CRM, SFE tools, and sales force metrics.
  • Pharmaceutical sector experience, understanding brand planning and NHS environment.
  • Vendor management experience, especially with market research agencies.
  • Strong project management skills and cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly analytical and problem-solving abilities.
