Join Lloyds Banking Group as the Head of Business & Commercial Banking - Business Products Risk.

Position Details

Location: Edinburgh, Bristol, or Birmingham

Hours: Full-time, hybrid work pattern (at least two days per week in the office)

About the Role

We are seeking a leader to develop and oversee our Conduct & Compliance Risk function within Business and Commercial Banking. You will lead a team to ensure compliance with UK regulations, develop oversight plans, and collaborate with risk and control teams to support strategic outcomes. Your expertise will help embed a proactive risk management culture aligned with our Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and develop the Conduct & Compliance Risk team, fostering strong external relationships.
  2. Oversee compliance assessments related to UK regulations impacting BCB & CIB, focusing on product regulations.
  3. Create and implement oversight plans, providing expert opinions on compliance and regulatory obligations.
  4. Collaborate with risk and control teams to deliver credible risk advice supporting business objectives.
  5. Produce and analyze data to monitor risk policies, reporting deviations and findings.
  6. Support management of risk events, breaches, and actions following RCSA processes.
  7. Proactively suggest improvements to enhance team effectiveness and efficiency.
  8. Support the embedding of the Resetting Risk operating model, demonstrating a growth mindset.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Compliance Advisory role within a financial institution, managing a team.
  • Deep expertise in Business and Commercial Banking Conduct & Compliance Risks, especially product regulations (e.g., CMA, CONC, Consumer Duty, FLA).
  • Strong understanding of current compliance frameworks and technology used in financial services.
  • Proficiency in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to make timely, informed decisions and analyze complex data.
  • Experience in building partnerships and supporting leadership in risk-based decision-making.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills to develop team capabilities aligned with Group strategies.
