At Ambitious about Autism, we are unwavering in our commitment to working with autistic children and young people, advocating for their rights and supporting them to achieve their dreams. We believe every autistic child and young person has the fundamental right to be themselves and to realize their ambitions.
Starting with the opening of TreeHouse School by four parents, AaA has become a movement for change. Today, we run schools and colleges focused on improving the quality of life for pupils and learners to enable them to learn, thrive, and achieve. Our national services provide information, practical support, a youth network, an internship program, and active campaigning for policy change.
TreeHouse School is a non-maintained special school for pupils aged 4-19 with Autism and learning difficulties. It currently supports over [number] pupils with approximately [number] staff, including qualified teachers, teaching assistants, allied health professionals, positive behaviour support staff, and operational staff.
The school is a thriving, inclusive community dedicated to the education and well-being of autistic children and young people across three curriculum pathways: pre-formal, semi-formal, and formal. Each pathway promotes well-being, independence, and social participation, with a focus on personalized learning and positive behaviour support.
Although the school is graded 'Outstanding', we seek a Head of Business and Operations to support the current Head (in post for 2 years) in reviewing and driving continuous improvement. You will oversee financial and operational aspects, working collaboratively with the Headteacher to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness for better school functioning and pupil outcomes.
This role involves line management of two operations managers and other staff within the school. Your immediate challenge will be to evaluate and streamline the school's operational systems and processes, supporting change management where appropriate.
We seek an experienced professional with a background in business management and operations management, including performance management and reporting for governance and stakeholder relationships. Proficiency in financial management and strategic planning is essential.
The ability to work collaboratively within a school leadership team and excellent communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders are crucial. We want a leader confident to tackle challenges and drive continuous improvement. Familiarity with educational regulations is desirable but not essential; a proactive mindset and commitment to operational efficiency are more important.
Applications close at 12am on Monday, 26th August.
Ambitious about Autism is committed to equality, diversity, and safeguarding. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates and conduct necessary safeguarding checks, including an Enhanced DBS check.
