Job Description:

Lincoln Cornhill is proud to work with a reputable Local Authority in West London, seeking a Head of Building Safety & Compliance on an initial 3-month interim contract.

The role is 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9-5), offers 2-3 days working from home, and a negotiable daily rate based on experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring housing property operations comply with health and safety regulations, including Building and Fire Safety Acts, gas servicing, and electrical management, through inspections, audits, and risk management.
• Leading the council housing team on Building Safety Act matters, providing senior advisory support, and ensuring compliance with standards set by the Building Safety Regulator and London Fire Brigade, acting as the Accountable Person under the Building Safety Act 2022.
• Overseeing procurement and implementation of compliance inspections, testing, and remedial works, ensuring quality, timeliness, and contractor performance, with transparent reporting.
• Conducting audits of compliance data, examining housing operations, identifying improvements, and implementing corrective actions.
• Managing compliance risks by staying updated on regulations and industry best practices, ensuring ongoing adherence and risk mitigation.

Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations, including gas, asbestos, and fire safety.
• Understanding of Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, and other relevant regulations within housing portfolios.
• Experience in compliance audits and housing operations examination.
• Ability to develop and implement compliance policies.
• Excellent communication skills.
