Role Description

We're looking for a visionary Head of Broker Pricing & Underwriting - Motor to lead from the front, steering strategic direction, inspiring managerial excellence, and delivering cutting-edge, compliant pricing frameworks that make a real difference.

In this pivotal leadership role, you’ll guide a talented team of managers, collaborate closely with Allianz’s Pricing & Underwriting, Broker, and Personal Lines Leadership teams, and play a central role in shaping the future of motor insurance through bold ideas and sound execution. About You

In this role you will:

  • Take ownership and lead the management of the Broker Motor Profit & Loss.
  • Shape and communicate a long-term vision for the Broker Motor portfolio, aligning pricing and underwriting strategy with Allianz’s business objectives and market dynamics.
  • Drive forward-thinking initiatives by monitoring trends and emerging technologies, promoting innovation across pricing methodologies and underwriting practices.
  • Build strong relationships with brokers, industry bodies, and internal teams to expand reach and strengthen collaboration.
  • Lead change management, strategically allocate resources, and manage deliverables to ensure smooth implementation and timely execution of initiatives.
  • Define KPIs and ensure regulatory alignment, tracking performance to maintain financial sustainability and operational integrity.
  • Mentor team members and promote a culture of continuous learning to build a strong leadership pipeline across the function.
  • Articulate complex strategies to all levels of the organisation, ensuring understanding, engagement, and alignment from key stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will be/have;

  • Degree in a numerate discipline (e.g. finance, economics, actuarial science); master’s or certifications like FIA/ACII desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, cost analysis, and pricing tools including WTW Radar Live.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with attention to detail; able to navigate complex challenges and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Solid understanding of the UK insurance market, regulatory environment, and trends impacting motor pricing.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable debating decisions with senior leaders and adapting to change with confidence and professionalism.
