Head of Broker Engagement

Description
As the Head of Broker Engagement, you will be instrumental in maximising the potential of our distribution partners, facilitating and managing strategic broker partnerships, and driving profitable growth across our business alongside our underwriting teams. This is a unique opportunity for someone with extensive market experience and an established broker network to leverage their strategic influence and contribute to Convex's continued success. Reporting to the UK Chief Underwriting Officer, Insurance and nurture positive relationships across Convex Group. This includes C-suite, Line of Business Heads and other stakeholders as required. Consistent with our flat hierarchy, you will benefit from resources around the Group to support your delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maximise opportunities to ensure Convex are growing our market share/share of broker wallet and rank, across key broking relationships.
  • Leverage Convex senior management relationships and market proposition to get an outsized share of target client accounts through partnerships with brokers and clients.
  • Build relationships with broker carrier management teams and market peers to enhance market awareness and intelligence, supporting business development.
  • Monitor trading metrics (internal and external) to identify areas of opportunity for better alignment between Convex class of business teams with their broking peers.
  • Support CUOs, Heads of Business Group and Line of Business Heads, to explore areas to expand underwriting appetite.
  • Work with underwriting teams and Analytics to source information and data to objectively support, define or adjust underwriting appetite.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
  • 10-15 years of experience in the London insurance market, with an extensive background in broker engagement and relationship management as well as familiarity with various classes of business.
  • Proven track record of maintaining and leveraging a broad network of broker relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to influence and facilitate growth.
  • Articulate and confident communicator at all levels of seniority with the ability to adapt your style depending on your audience.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to spot trends and growth opportunities, using data to present strategic information.
  • Willing to embrace the Convex values and apply them in your daily role.
