About the Position

DMG Education is currently partnering with a secondary school in Stanford-le-Hope, Thurrock, seeking an outstanding Head of Biology to join from September on a permanent basis. They are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Head of Biology / Biology teacher with a passion for the subject to lead and inspire students. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Biology section within the Science department.
• Deliver high-quality Biology lessons to students in Years 7-12.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans catering to diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Monitor and assess staff and students' progress, providing constructive feedback for development.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment encouraging staff and students to reach their full potential.
• Collaborate with Biology teachers to share best practices and improve the Biology curriculum.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, including science clubs and competitions, to enrich students' learning experiences.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about student progress and concerns.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Biology or a related field.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
• Proven secondary-level Biology teaching experience.
• Leadership experience is desirable but not essential.
• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the Biology curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
• Commitment to professional development and learning new teaching strategies.
