Head of Bidding

Location: The Point, Warwick

Job type: Full time, Permanent

What you’ll do:

• Lead and manage bids and tender submissions for the Transport business, reporting to the Business Development Director.
• Manage a Bid Team based in Warwick and London, planning resources to bid for opportunities.
• Ensure effective resource utilization to maximize business opportunities.
• Manage the end-to-end process of creating high-quality, successful bids following telent’s procedures.
• Improve bid quality and adopt best practices.
• Monitor bid costs and seek improvements in bid return on investment.
• Develop relationships with customers through meetings and presentations.
• Oversee Bid team performance, KPIs, and SLAs.
• Lead bid strategy development, bid material production, and post-bid support.
• Plan bid workloads, forecast, track costs, and report on wins/losses.
• Conduct bid reviews and maintain the Bid library.

Who you are:

Key requirements:

• Extensive experience leading high-performing Bid Teams and driving bid success.
• Proven success in winning bids in sectors like Traffic, Rail, Defence, and Emergency Services.
• Strong project management, organizational, and financial skills.
• Knowledge of Traffic, Rail, Telecommunications, and IT products and services.
• APMP or equivalent qualification with a record of bid wins.
• Excellent bid writing skills, including responses to tender questions and cost responses.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Leadership skills and experience building successful bid teams.
• Ability to develop commercial propositions based on customer needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ownership, accountability, and a positive, proactive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining strong relationships.
• High emotional intelligence and pride in work quality.
