GBP600 per day (Inside IR35)

Location: Birmingham - Hybrid Work Pattern

Hays is partnering with a local council to recruit an Interim Head of Benefits and Revenues. This new leadership role has arisen due to recent restructuring within the organisation, within the Revenues and Benefits service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective leadership across all operational teams within Revenues and Benefits, ensuring consistent implementation of the Council's performance management framework.
  • Manage the Revenues and Benefits Service budget, ensuring expenditure remains within agreed limits and the service delivers value for money.
  • Develop specifications for external contracts supporting revenue and benefits services.
  • Monitor and improve performance, including maximising collection rates for Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates, benefit overpayments, and general debt.
Essential Requirements:
  • Proven experience working within a local authority setting.
  • Fully qualified accountant with strong financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing complex service areas and driving performance improvement.
