Join Our Team as Head of Aviation Training at Affinity Flying Services

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for aviation and training excellence? Affinity is seeking a Head of Aviation Training to lead, grow, and manage our strategic and operational training functions. As a key member of our Senior Management Team, you will ensure the effective delivery of high-quality aviation training programs, leveraging the expertise of subject matter experts, training deliverers, content creators, and general administration resources within our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the business strategy for aviation training services, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of training programs, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Team Management: Lead, motivate, and coordinate a virtual team to deliver best-in-class training solutions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all training programs meet national and international aviation regulatory standards and accreditations.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue opportunities for expanding training services, fostering partnerships, and increasing market share.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, control costs, and drive revenue growth for the training division.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including industry partners, regulatory bodies, and clients.
  • Innovation & Development: Drive the adoption of new training technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest standards in training delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction and positive learning outcomes.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks related to training operations, including compliance and safety considerations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Extensive regulatory experience such as UK CAA/EASA nominated post holder/Form4 Holder/UK CAA/EASA surveyor.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in aviation services and training, with a proven track record of leadership in a senior management role.
  • Strong consultancy experience and experience of selling services within an Aviation environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing and growing a training function within a highly regulated environment.
  • Proven experience in aviation training program development, instructional design, and overseeing content creation.
  • In depth understanding of aviation regulations, compliance, and safety standards.
  • Financial and commercial acumen, with experience in managing budgets, P&L, and revenue growth.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a matrix environment, influence stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Detailed knowledge of Human Factors in Aviation
  • Experience in digital learning platforms and e-learning development is a plus.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Aviation, Education, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Ability to acquire UK security clearance and a full UK driving licence.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive innovation and change.
  • Proficiency in training program development and instructional design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Financial and commercial acumen to manage budgets and drive revenue growth.
