Job summary

Yate Academy in England is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Head of Department to lead our Art provision and contribute to the school’s ongoing success. As Head of Department you will shape the curriculum, monitor standards, and work with senior leaders to raise achievement.

You will ensure engaging Schemes of Work, differentiate learning, and provide insightful reports on student progress. The role requires Qualified Teacher Status, relevant postgraduate study, and a track record of

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QT S) required.
• Postgraduate studies relevant to Art or Education.
• Experience as a department head is desirable but not essential.
• Strong classroom practitioner with Art KS3-4 experience.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to differentiate.

Responsibilities

• Organise curriculum delivery within the Art Department.
• Provide up-to-date schemes of work for all subjects in the Learning Area.
• Differentiate teaching approaches to meet student needs.
• Monitor and analyse student performance and report findings.
• Devise and implement targeted intervention strategies.
• Complete self-evaluation and data analysis documentation.
