About Teach For Australia

Teach For Australia's vision is an Australia where education gives every child greater choice for their future. Our mission is to grow a community of leaders committed to equity for children and young people, by recruiting and developing exceptional people to teach and lead across Australian schools.

What We Offer
  • Opportunity to work with an engaged community of educators working to close the education gap.
  • Flexible work practices — we are a remote-first organisation with periodic in-person connections.
  • Allowance and time off for professional development.
  • Additional day of leave for your birthday.
  • 12.5% superannuation contribution and professional development allowances, among other perks.
Role Purpose

The role leads the Community team in stewarding our long-term commitment to equity by cultivating a sense of community among program participants and developing the leadership and impact of our program alumni throughout their careers.

Ideal Candidate
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., education, business management, marketing) or equivalent experience.
  • Lived experience with educational inequity or from a diverse background is highly valued; please share how this experience enhances your ability to perform this role.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to embrace new approaches and drive innovation.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and mobilise a diverse community.
  • Experience managing a community of connected individuals, creating networks and collective alliances.
  • Skills in project planning, budgeting, and delivery, with adaptability and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership and management experience, preferably in education or non-profit sectors.
  • Experience with community-driven advocacy and change management.
  • Alumni of a “Teach For” program or similar organisation involvement.
  • Understanding of education equity issues, policy landscapes, and grassroots organising, especially in low-income, regional, or remote communities.

We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
