Job summary

RES is seeking a Director of Applications and AI Automation to lead the build engine for its enterprise application estate and AI-enabled solutions. You will shape strategy, delivery and governance across ERP, custom apps, automation, and AI platforms, reporting to the Group CIO.

You will lead a globally distributed team across the UK, Spain, and beyond, setting standards for responsible AI and ensuring successful delivery within a Demand to Build to Run model.

Qualifications

• Set and own applications, automation and AI strategy aligned to demand shaped by Business Technology and Delivery Governance.
• Lead ERP development on IFS while winding down legacy ERP platforms.
• Own the development and lifecycle direction of the existing application portfolio.
• Govern AI-assisted software development and establish responsible-AI standards across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy and roadmap for applications, automation and AI solutions.
• Lead ERP development on IFS and manage legacy transitions.
• Own real-time integration and secure interfaces between applications.
• Oversee AI platform, including model gateway, agent runtime and governance.
• Ensure run-readiness and governance for all solutions across the org.
