Leading International Bank based in London currently seeks a Head of Affluent/HNW Client Banking to lead and manage the bank's affluent/HNW Banking segment, driving strategy, enhancing customer experience, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the Affluent Banking strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
- Develop and oversee the annual business plan for the affluent banking units.
- Manage the operational and strategic direction of the affluent banking division, optimizing business activities, products, and services.
- Own the P&L for affluent Banking, ensuring achievement of revenue and profitability targets (mortgages, deposits, and fees).
- Drive innovation in policies and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure seamless branch operations, maintaining compliance with bank policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Foster strong relationships with key customers, ensuring long-term retention and satisfaction.
- Oversee the affluent banking sales activities, including target-setting and performance tracking.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of the team.
- Ensure optimal staffing and capability development within the banking division.
- Cultivate a high-performance culture and promote continuous learning and professional growth.
- Serve as the first line of defense against financial crime, money laundering, and sanctions violations.
- Ensure departmental adherence to the Bank’s Financial Crime Policy and Procedures.
- Maintain strong awareness of financial crime risks and contribute to the annual Business AML Risk Assessment.
- Escalate material financial crime risks to the MLRO and Managing Director as necessary.
- Manage relationships with the bank's other Overseas branches for bank-related referrals and operational matters.
- Oversee real estate services for Private Banking and branch clients, ensuring smooth transactions and compliance with legal formalities.
- Source new mortgage business opportunities to drive growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in HNW, affluent and personal banking, including branch operations.
- Strong background in UK banking, regulatory compliance, and labour laws.
- Expertise in Financial Crime management, Conduct Risk, and Consumer Duty.
- Deep understanding of GCC client culture and behaviour.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing sales and service teams.
- Strong understanding of banking governance, risk frameworks, capital, and liquidity management.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is highly desirable.
