Job description

Location: Harlow/London - Hybrid role with a customer base in the South East

Summary of Role

In this role, you will lead a small team to maximize Raytheon UK's ATMS, APNT, and internal Manufacturing Sales, including matrix management of a US-based team member. You will develop sales strategies, routes to market, and campaigns, executing these to meet the Annual sales plan (AOP) and build a pipeline of opportunities. You will support key captures and be prepared to assist in any of the three sales areas as workload demands.

Reporting to the Executive Director R&C and Strategy, with a matrixed line to the Advanced Products mission area lead, you should have recent experience in business strategy development and product sales in a relevant environment.

Main Duties

  1. Lead the R&C teams in the Advanced Products mission area to create strategies for achieving growth targets, developing new opportunities, and winning new business.
  2. Coordinate and execute prioritized plans focusing on current pursuits within the AOP and LRP.
  3. Work with R&C leads to ensure excellence in business capture, pipeline development, and proposal writing.
  4. Coordinate with US Business R&C teams for international opportunities.
  5. Manage budgets for R&C and B&P in conjunction with Finance.
  6. Align IR&D /Seed Fund budgets with sales plans in collaboration with Finance and Engineering heads.
  7. Collaborate internally and externally to develop and execute capture strategies.
  8. Manage program accounts, review gates, new business assessments, pipeline reviews, and customer engagements.
  9. Own the Advanced Products business strategy and develop related product, service, marketing plans.
  10. Lead and manage the R&C team, fostering a positive culture and supporting team development.
  11. Contribute to wider R&C and Communication strategies as a senior leader.
  12. Identify appropriate channels to market, such as direct sales, OEMs, re-sellers, or partners.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in business development or strategic roles within Advanced Products areas.
  • Creative, energetic, entrepreneurial approach.
  • Commercial awareness with risk and opportunity assessment skills, managing budgets.
  • Role model for RTX leadership behaviors.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels, including the board.
  • Proven success in winning new business and meeting sales targets.
  • Ability to develop market strategies, including product development and pricing.
  • Understanding of UK and international markets.
  • Relevant security clearances or willingness to obtain them.
  • Experience in product/system/service integration.
  • Leadership experience in developing successful teams.
  • Strong relationships with UK and international customers and experience with customer acquisition processes.
  • Interest and understanding of UK and international defence, security, and aerospace issues.
  • Knowledge of different commercial models for products and services.
