Job summary

Wildside Activity Centre in Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced activities coordinator to support the development of our well-established charity, delivering outdoor activities with a focus on conservation and learning.

You will be highly organised with strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to manage changing priorities, work to deadlines, and lead sessional activity leaders, volunteers, and duty officers while promoting sustainability.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning and delivering outdoor activities with a conservation focus.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills; ability to work at a fast pace and meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage volunteers and sessional staff across activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead in researching, planning and offering educational and adventurous activity programmes, on-site and off-site.
• Ensure all activities comply with statutory requirements and keep paperwork up to date.
• Manage and develop the activity team including sessional leaders and volunteers.

Wildside Activity Centre is an Environmental and Adventurous Activity Centre working with all ages and abilities. Our mission is to provide enjoyment of the outdoors by offering adventurous and healthy activities whilst promoting an underlying appreciation of the environment by promoting sustainability an awareness of our actions on climate change in everything we do.

Wildside is seeking to appoint an experienced activities coordinator to support the development of our well-established charity. The successful candidate will be experienced in planning and delivering outdoor activities focusing on conservation and encouraging others to make the most of being outdoors. They will be highly organised with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will possess the ability to think innovatively to solve problems and operate at a fast pace. A capability to manage changing priorities and work to tight deadlines is also desired.

Key Objectives

• To take the lead in researching, planning and offering Wildside’s educational and adventurous activity programmes, in our buildings, grounds and on boats, and reviewing their impact
• Ensuring all of the Centre’s activities, on and off site, are carried out in compliance with all relevant statutory requirements and procedures, ensuring all paperwork is up to date and fit for purpose.
• Effective management of team including sessional Activity Leaders, activity and marketing volunteers, and appointment of duty officers
• To raise the profile of Wildside through effective marketing and communications, thereby expanding and enhancing engagement with the diverse communities of Wolverhampton and in particular Whitmore Reans
• Set and manage the activities budget, including identifying and securing required income to deliver priorities

The role is part-time 2.5 days/week, offered at NJC Scale Point 20, £16,299pa.
