Job summary

Headington School Oxford seeks a Lead Nurse (RGN/RN qualified) to manage the health centre and a team of nurses, caring for both resident boarders and day pupils. The role includes overseeing health provision, first aid, and wellbeing support, with safeguarding and DBS checks integral to the appointment.

The Lead Nurse will maintain day-to-day contact with pupils, parents and staff, ensuring high standards of care across the school’s health and wellbeing services.

Qualifications

• Lead Nurse must be a professional, caring and enthusiastic nurse with experience working with young people.
• Oversee health provision and lead the health centre and health care roles.
• Must be able to manage the health centre team including the health and wellbeing assistant and boarding staff.
• DBS and safeguarding checks will be completed as part of recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the health centre and healthcare provision for prep and senior pupils.
• Lead the nursing team and liaise with boarding staff.
• Provide first aid and support emotional wellbeing for pupils.
• Maintain day-to-day contact with pupils, parents and staff.
