Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a 12-month advanced fellowship in head and neck surgery within the ENT department. The post is designed for trainees who have completed ENT training and seek sub-specialist training before a consultant role in head and neck surgery.

It commences in August 2027 and includes participation in research and an MDT with the University of Birmingham.

Qualifications

• FRCS ORL-HNS (or equivalent) is required.
• Certificate of Completion of Training (or equivalent) in Otolaryngology is required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in outpatient and inpatient ENT care as directed by Consultants.
• Take part in the MDT, audit and journal meetings within the department.
• Undertake research with the head and neck team and the academic unit at the University of Birmingham.
• Participate in ENT out-of-hours on-call rota and provide clinical assessment, management and escalation of emergencies.
• Contribute to CPD activities for research and audit.
