Job summary

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Head and Neck Surgery SLT team in Lincoln. The role involves assessment, treatment, and management of adults with head and neck cancer, including tracheostomy and laryngectomy, with opportunities to work across ENT, Maxillofacial and Oncology teams.

Qualifications

• Recognised speech and language therapy degree or equivalent.
• HCPC registration is required.
• Postgraduate qualification and CPD in relevant courses/training including dysphagia competencies.
• Evidence of skills in the management of complex speech and swallowing conditions.
• Knowledge of clinical governance activities.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage swallowing and communication in adult head and neck cancer patients; develop specialist knowledge via CPD; engage in MDT working for optimal outcomes.
• Attend weekly MDT clinics with Lincoln and Nottingham teams; deliver outpatient assessments for speech, voice and swallowing difficulties across all cancer pathway stages.
