Job summary

We are seeking a strategic, proactive, and detail-oriented Head of Middle Office Sales to lead our London-based team. This role is crucial for ensuring the security of our control framework and providing exceptional service to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in capital markets, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing complex operations within a financial institution.

Located on the London trading floor, you will be responsible for the Sales Middle Office Support team. The team's primary objective is to ensure the timely and accurate booking of transactions into the traders' risk systems and facilitate the flow into the back office systems for settlement.

Middle Office is a key line of defence in the bank's control framework and a key support function to the front office.

You will be responsible for ensuring the security of the control framework and the level of service provided to the clients of Middle Office.

You will coordinate with various departments, with Middle Office acting as a nexus between support functions and the Front Office.

You will have a strong capital markets background, relevant product knowledge, and strong leadership skills.

MOS Sales is an external-facing function working with the operational teams of our clients on post-trade requests (e.g., novations, allocations, booking errors, failed settlements), requiring good communication skills as you'll represent the company to our clients.

Middle Office Sales London is a team of 10 individuals, and demonstrable people management experience is essential.

As the Head of MO Sales London, you will be responsible for:

  • Control and support functions of the operations initiated by the Sales FX and Credit Business Lines, from the negotiation and recording of transactions.
  • Assessing and minimizing the operational risk of MO Sales Support while optimizing resource use.
  • Facilitating and improving the handling of operations in processing chains by ensuring effective control processes.
  • Communicating effectively and regularly on team status.
  • Defining and implementing team improvement projects and plans.
  • Supporting the definition and implementation of relevant bank projects.
  • Managing relationships with other group entities and external partners, providing effective escalation points.

  • Good knowledge of the Fund allocation process for Bonds and Forex
  • Good knowledge of client-facing post-trade events like novations
  • Transformation and Client Onboarding experience is desirable
