We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Head Housekeeper to manage the housekeeping team at our 28-bedroom hotel, Orchid Hotel in Epsom. You’ll be responsible for maintaining high cleanliness standards in guest rooms and public areas, overseeing equipment maintenance, and managing inventory control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor and recruit housekeeping staff
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure all areas of the hotel are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure cleanliness and adherence to established procedures
  • Manage and coordinate the inventory of housekeeping supplies, linen, and equipment
  • Respond to guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally
  • Maintain a working knowledge of health and safety regulations and ensure compliance within the department
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as front desk and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and control departmental expenses within budgetary guidelines
  • Any other work as assigned by senior management
  • Ensuring that any maintenance issue is reported on time to the maintenance department.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of cleaning procedures, hotel operations, and health & safety standards.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the housekeeping department
  • Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues with tact and professionalism.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including MS Office and housekeeping management systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
