Care South operates Kenwith Castle, a 54-bed residential and dementia care home in Bideford. We are seeking a hands-on housekeeping professional to manage daily services, supervise staff, and maintain high cleanliness standards in a supportive, home-like environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily housekeeping and laundry services, including supervising the team.
• Maintain cleaning, laundry and equipment per instructions and safety guidelines.
• Report and log minor faults and repairs promptly.
• Ensure rooms for viewing are presented to a high standard.
• Create schedules for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks.
• Order cleaning products and PPE; ensure First Aid boxes are stocked.
• Support a welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors.
• Be flexible to join a larger housekeeping team.

About the Role

Come and join our team at Kenwith Castle, a 54 bed residential and dementia care home in Bideford. You'll be able to support our residents in a safe and caring environment where they can live their lives as if in the comfort of their own home.

Responsibilities

• Managing the daily delivery of all housekeeping and laundry services including supervision of the housekeeping and laundry team.
• Ensuring that cleaning, laundry and domestic equipment is maintained by staff in accordance with manufacturing instructions and health & safety guidelines.
• All minor faults and repairs are reported promptly and recorded.
• Ensuring that rooms for viewing are presented to a high standard.
• Preparing schedules which identify and allocate responsibility for daily, weekly, monthly, annual and cyclical cleaning / maintenance tasks.
• Ordering stock of cleaning products and PPE including ensuring all First Aid boxes are appropriately stocked and sited in accessible areas in the event of an emergency.
• Previous experience within a care home setting is not essential - but we want you to come in and enjoy housekeeping!
• A real desire to create a fresh and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors to enjoy.
• Flexible in the hours that you work and happy to join in as part of a larger housekeeping team.

Working Hours

32.5 hours per week, to include alternate weekend working.

Shift Patterns Available

We offer flexible shift patterns, with working hours typically between 8:00am and 6:00pm. Exact start and finish times will be discussed and agreed with the Home Manager to support the needs of the home while taking your availability into consideration.
