Job summary

Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa is seeking an experienced Head Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping operation at a busy premium hotel and spa near London. The role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences by turning around rooms efficiently and maintaining immaculate public areas.

You will manage a small team, ensure best-in-class cleanliness, and work closely with operations and events teams to uphold the hotel’s high presentation standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in housekeeping management or supervisory role in a quality hotel or venue.
• Strong eye for detail and high standards.
• Hands-on leader who sets example and motivates a small team.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a small housekeeping team.
• Ensure bedrooms and public areas meet highest standards and prepare rooms for 3pm check-in.
• Manage stock, linen and cleaning supplies efficiently.
• Implement and maintain cleaning schedules and procedures.
• Carry out quality checks and ensure health and safety compliance.

£32,000 per annum + monthly service charge

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Head Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping operation at this busy 4 Silver Star Country House Hotel and Spa.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a close-knit team delivering memorable experiences, where attention to detail and high standards are essential in creating a flawless environment for every one of our guests.

The Role

As Head Housekeeper, you’ll take full responsibility for ensuring all guest bedrooms, public areas and event spaces are always presented to an exceptional standard.

Working closely with the wider operations and events team, you’ll play a key role in preparing the Hotel, turning rooms around efficiently, and maintaining the high level of presentation expected within a premium, boutique Hotel setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a small, dedicated housekeeping team
• Ensure all bedrooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards, and ensuring arrival rooms are ready, perfect for guest check-in at 3pm.
• Manage stock, linen and cleaning supplies efficiently
• Implement and maintain cleaning schedules and procedures
• Carry out regular quality checks and ensure compliance with health & safety standards
• Create a positive, supportive team culture focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences

About You

• Proven experience in a housekeeping management or supervisory role within a quality hotel or venue environment
• A strong eye for detail and a passion for high standards
• A hands-on leader who leads by example
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced, customer focused environment
• Confident communicator who works well with multiple departments
• Flexible approach, particularly during busy periods
