A leading agricultural service provider is seeking an experienced herdsperson to manage a 200-cow robotic flying herd in Monmouthshire. This role focuses on comprehensive herd health management, including calvings and AI, while offering a competitive salary and accommodation on the farm. Ideal candidates will possess exceptional skills in herd operations and demonstrate an ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the farm team.
We have a contract vacancy for an experienced herdsperson to take day-to-day control of a 200-cow Lely robotic flying herd in Monmouthshire.
This herd calves during a 9-month period, and there is a focus on summer grazing.
Robotic manure scrapers are utilised, in the cubicle house.
Duties will be numerous as no milking is required, so full herd health control, to include calvings, AI and foot trimming when required, winter feeding of cows, summer grassland management and all year feeding of calves. Control of vet visits, drying off and calvings.
Candidates must be fully experienced in all day-to-day operations of herd management, with excellent attention to detail, and be able to work alone and within the family farm team.
