The HICA Group has an exciting new opportunity for a caring & enthusiastic individual to join our growing team as a Head Cook at The Hollies, based in Hessle.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check. HICA does not offer sponsorship to Non-UK Nationals.

Pay & Hours:
  • £13.00 per hour
  • 40 hours per week
  • Working on a 7-day rota with alternate weekends
The Role:
  • Provide planned meals to a high culinary standard, emphasizing presentation and quality, ensuring nutritional value and dietetic needs are met.
  • Ensure food is served appropriately, on time, and meets all HICA standards.
  • Supervise kitchen staff in the absence of the Chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness and ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Hygiene legislation, including the implementation of HACCP.
  • Receive, check, and store deliveries following HACCP procedures in the absence of the Chef.
  • Handle purchasing and ordering within organizational guidelines.
  • Interact professionally and respectfully with Service Users, including communication and completing questionnaires.
  • Serve food and beverages to Service Users when necessary.
Who we are looking for:
  • Holds a relevant qualification for this role (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working in a kitchen environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of individual dietary needs.
  • Good understanding of challenging behaviors.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
