Job summary

Ambleside Care Home in Bexhill-on-Sea is seeking a Head Cook to lead daily kitchen operations and provide nutritious meals tailored to residents’ dietary requirements.

You will plan and prepare menus, manage stock and ensure high hygiene standards while working closely with the care team to meet individual needs. This full‑time role offers weekday hours and a rewarding care‑home environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Cook in a care home is essential.
• Experience planning menus and preparing meals for older people.
• Good knowledge of dietary requirements and food allergens.
• Experience preparing pureed food and modified-texture diets.

Ambleside Care Home in Bexhill is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Cook to join our team.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing delicious, nutritious meals and understands the importance of providing high-quality food for residents in a care home setting.

The Role

As Head Cook, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen and ensuring residents receive tasty, nutritious meals that meet their individual dietary needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals for residents.
• Planning and preparing menus that offer variety and meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Managing dietary requirements, food allergies and allergens.
• Preparing pureed and modified-texture meals where required.

What We're Looking For

• Good knowledge of dietary requirements and food allergens.
• Experience preparing pureed food and modified-texture diets.
• Strong organisation skills, including stock management.
• A passion for cooking and providing excellent food.
• Dementia care experience is desirable.
