What is the role?

You will be responsible for coaching and developing elite female players to perform at the highest domestic club level and will help individuals to maintain and work towards International Honours, within an elite performance environment.

What will you be doing?

You will be planning and delivering appropriate on-pitch sessions aligned to the Game Model with the technical staff, whilst implementing the Southampton FC Women’s Game Model as set out by the Director of Women’s Football. You will also need to monitor, assess and record squad players training and match performances, work with the first team analyst in producing squad, unit and individual clips whilst being responsible for the selection of first team players for fixtures, ensuring robust communication processes are in place.

You will lead on daily meetings with the technical staff and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure training for fit and non-fit players is planned collectively, whilst ensuring training and match loading is appropriate to the needs of the first team players.

Working closely with the Director of Women’s Football, you will ensure an Elite Performance Environment is maintained on a day-to-day basis, create a squad depth chart and support in identifying players for the squad.

Other duties include

  • Work closely with the Technical team to ensure strong relationships and ways of working are in place daily.
  • Incorporate, where and when appropriate, the high performing Academy players into first team training and match day squads.
  • Ensure the Culture created for players and staff is driven by high standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with International Coaching Staff.
  • Work with the SFC Media team on external communication around training and fixtures

Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience coaching in the Women’s Super League or Championship equivalent.
  • Experience working in an elite professional football environment.
  • Proven experience in developing elite female footballers.
  • Able to communicate well, influence and work with senior members of staff.
