Job Description:

Our prestigious client based in Edinburgh are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead their kitchen team. This role will begin on a Temporary basis however could potentially become Permanent for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food production, ensuring that all foods meet our clients high standards of quality and presentation. As the Head Chef, the role holder will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Pay rate of £20.00 per hour dependent on experience and qualifications.
Duties
- Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are maintained.
- Manage food production processes, including preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment that encourages professional development.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and always maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Collaborate with catering staff to ensure seamless service and satisfaction.
- Assist in budgeting and cost control measures to maximise profitability without compromising quality.
Skills
- Proven experience in team management and leadership within a kitchen environment.
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for food production and innovation.
- Ability to supervise staff effectively, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen.

Hours of work are 5 days over 7 per week therefore flexibility is required.
