The Clog and Billycock, Blackburn is seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to join our culinary team. As the Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in menu development, kitchen management, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. We are looking for someone who shares our love for food, embraces creativity, and possesses exceptional culinary skills.
The Clog and Billycock, nestled in the picturesque village of Pleasington, is a true gem. Inside, you’ll find open fires, cosy rugs, and original wooden and flagged stone floors. Our bar, at the heart of the pub, boasts an impressive selection of cask ales, malts, gins, and around 50 curated wines to suit every palate.
Outside, our stunning terrace offers a sun-soaked haven during summer, transforming into a covered seating area with an open fire during cooler months.
Our menus change with the seasons, providing plenty of opportunities for our Head Chef to showcase their creativity and personal touch.
Our kitchens are dynamic, fast-paced, and high-volume. You will have experience as a Head Chef, Chef Manager, Kitchen Manager, or Senior Sous Chef in a busy, premium fresh food environment. You will be responsible for fostering a positive food culture within your pub, working closely with the pub manager to drive the business forward, and helping to formulate seasonal menus with our Executive Chefs. We seek a confident leader who nurtures their team and creates an inclusive, supportive environment. Excellent business acumen is essential to manage stock, GPs, and labour controls effectively.
