Job summary

Summerville Care Home in Warrington is seeking a proactive Head Chef to lead the kitchen, delivering nutritious, enjoyable meals that residents look forward to each day. You will manage menu planning, food preparation, stock control, and compliance, tailoring dishes to dietary needs while upholding high standards of presentation, nutrition and food safety.

This 40-hour-per-week role is a daytime shift with strong development opportunities in a supportive, well-structured environment that values

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Proven experience leading or managing a kitchen.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Good understanding of dietary requirements and food safety.
• A proactive, reliable and quality focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front to deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals central to daily life.
• Drive all aspects of kitchen operations: menu planning, food preparation, stock control, compliance and team performance.
• Manage stock, ordering and budgets to minimise waste while maintaining quality.
• Develop and lead a well organised, motivated and high performing kitchen team.
