Job summary

COREcruitment is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen of a busy East London independent pub and events venue, regularly serving 200–300+ covers on peak days and managing a large kitchen team.

You will own menu development, create seasonal dishes, oversee weddings and large scale events, control GP and costs, recruit and develop the kitchen staff, and lead a high-volume operation as the business expands.

Qualifications

• Proven Head Chef experience within a busy pub, restaurant, events venue or similar operation.
• Experience managing 200+ covers in a day.
• Strong experience with fresh food and quality-led menus.
• Proven experience developing and evolving menus.
• Experience with weddings, banqueting and large-scale events.
• The ability to lead and develop a sizeable kitchen team.
• Strong commercial understanding including GP, labour and stock control.
• Experience managing suppliers and negotiating pricing.
• The ability to stay organized during very busy services.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large kitchen team and deliver high-quality service during peak periods.
• Develop and evolve menus across the business with seasonal specials.
• Oversee weddings, banqueting and private events.
• Control GP, labour and stock; manage food costs.
• Plan and deliver large-scale events with suppliers and logistics.
