Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland in Manchester is seeking an experienced Head Chef for contract catering. You will lead kitchen operations, create menus, train staff, and ensure high culinary standards while controlling food costs.

The role requires Level 3 in Catering and Hospitality or equivalent, proven leadership, and the ability to manage client relationships in a fast-paced environment. You must have the right to work in the UK and strong Excel and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Proven and extensive experience in the production of food and service within contract catering and teams’ management.
• Level 3 in Catering and Hospitality or equivalent, with team management experience.
• Leads and mentors a team of chefs, proven leadership skills.
• Experience building relationships with clients and staff, meeting the client’s expectations daily.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.

Responsibilities

• Create and update menus in line with seasonal ingredients and client requirements.
• Oversee kitchen staff, providing training and resolving conflicts.
• Manage inventory to keep stock of fresh ingredients and adjust dishes when ingredients are unavailable.
• Support Head Chefs to maintain high culinary standards and control food costs.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen compliant with company and legal requirements.
