Job description

Nestled among rolling countryside and the chalky beauty of East Sussex, this exceptional hospitality destination is seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen of its relaxed yet refined restaurant.

This is a rare chance to take the reins at a thriving country kitchen set within a boutique estate, offering hearty seasonal menus to residents, walkers, cyclists and wine lovers alike.

Please note: due to the rural location, a full driving licence and access to your own transport is essential.

With a genuine farm-to-fork ethos and a brilliant team behind it, the site champions local produce and uncomplicated British cookery done well.

Housed in a striking property, the kitchen is spacious, open-plan and well-equipped.

The operation includes breakfast, relaxed evening dining, Sunday roasts in season, and the occasional private event or celebration.

This role would suit a proven Head Chef or a talented Sous or Senior Sous Chef ready to take the next step.

As Head Chef you will:

  • Be responsible for overseeing all aspects of a professional kitchen and will have a background in running high-level establishments
  • Manage and motivate your team
  • Ensure that ongoing training and development is offered
  • Possess solid man management and kitchen management
  • Be a creative and talented chef with exceptionally high standards who can lead their team by example and inspire them
  • Have the passion and ability to maintain an exceptional standard of cuisine and the right candidate will be experienced in good fresh food
