Summary of Position:

We are seeking a ‘first class’ Cook/Chef to join our team full-time, including some weekends. The ideal candidate will have culinary and management experience, responsible for kitchen functions such as ordering supplies, food preparation, and maintaining quality standards, sanitation, cleanliness, and supervising staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals and snacks throughout the day, catering to residents’ dietary needs and preferences (e.g., diabetics, texture-modified food, vegetarian).
  • Manage stock and order supplies.
  • Plan menus.
  • Maintain food safety checks and records as per company standards.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines.
  • Keep all equipment and food service areas clean and in excellent condition.
  • Collaborate with the Activities Team for special events.
  • Supervise staff and ensure timely completion of employee supervision duties.
  • Previous experience in a care setting preferred.
  • Qualifications in catering and food safety/hygiene required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good interpersonal skills and team spirit.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, problem-solve, and make decisions.
  • Effective time management and punctuality.
General Responsibilities:
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings.
  • Complete mandatory and developmental training.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, visitors, and professional agencies.
